My interpretation of an ancient roman Caldarium, the predecessor of the modern vapour bath. I was inspired by pictures of ruins of roman thermae, so this picture is more fantasy than accurate historic recostruction. While the base layout with its central water basin and the alcoves is plausible, the walls, ceiling and floor would be plastered, rather than exposed stone/brick. And that, in turn, would have been painted or laid in mosaic. The misty atmosphere was a bit of a challenge. Rather than adding fog (which did not get the desired result), I utilized multiple layers of the Glow-postprocess to get the impression of vapour. Only slight post in Photoshop was necessary to finish the look.
